Feb. 11 (UPI) — A passenger jet carrying 71 people today on board crashed just after takeoff from a Moscow airport Sunday, killing all on board, neighborhood officers reported.
The Antonov An-148 departed Domodedovo Airport en route to Orsk with 65 travellers and 6 crew customers. The aircraft crashed in the vicinity of the village of Argunovo in the Orenburg area.
Russia’s air transportation company reported the airport shed radio speak to with the Saratov Airlines aircraft various minutes just after takeoff.
“We have been given reports that an An-148 passenger aircraft that took off from Moscow’s Domodedovo for Orsk airport went missing from radars. A group of rescuers has been despatched to the presumable crash site in Moscow region’s Ramensky district,” a spokesman from the transportation company advised Tass news company.
